Copart Brazil’s History
Learn About Copart’s Auto Auction Beginnings
Copart was founded in 1982 by visionary Willis J. Johnson. Johnson started his company with a single salvage yard in California. In 1994, Copart became a publicly traded company on NASDAQ (CPRT), raising the money needed to expand the company across the United States and all over the world.
Throughout the years, Copart strategically invested in innovative technology and pioneered its own online auction system, quickly becoming a global leader in the industry.
Now, Copart has an international presence with more than 200 facilities in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, India, Spain and of course, Brazil. Copart started its activities in Brazil in 2012 by opening several locations in the biggest South American city: São Paulo.
Copart Brazil quickly became one of the most popular auctions in the country by organizing daily online auctions with vehicles from finance companies, banks, fleets, rental car companies and the insurance industry.

With more than 8,000 vehicles being auctioned every month, Copart Brazil provides excellent buying opportunities for everyone, including: resellers, recyclers companies, dismantlers and consumers in general.
Copart Brazil has consistently expanded its size and now has 10 locations in states such as São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Goiás, Paraná, and Rio Grande do Sul. Copart's vision continually offers compelling, innovative and unique products and services while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
